Dr. Anirban Bhowal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at National Institute of Technology Rourkela, India. His research interests include Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS), Semantic Communication, ISAC, Fluid Antennas, and Next-generation wireless communication systems for beyond 5G and 6G networks.

Prior to joining NIT Rourkela, he served as an Assistant Professor at IIIT Naya Raipur and worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at EMT-INRS, Montreal. He obtained his PhD from IIT Guwahati.
